Sonnet (Published)

He was a great player, top of his class
But after a nearly fatal event
He needed assistance, and very fast
To the capital of Belgium he went
Little did he know, he wouldn't play more.
An early retirement was needed
Sadly, he had to leave through the back door
Worse, they let him go unimpeded.
Arsenal was the first club he played for.
Birmingham City was where he gained fame
Bolton Wanderers could not be ignored
To say the least, he'll never be the same
Fabrice Muamba will be remembered.
He's a man to not be misremembered.
